Chairman of Sleep Out: Community Edition, New York Yankee, Oswaldo Cabrera
Sleep Out will be held in locations across New Jersey including Asbury Park, Camden, and Newark.
One of the definitions of “community” is “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.” One common interest and goal we share is helping youth facing homelessness and human trafficking survivors at Covenant House New Jersey. This is why we consider YOU an important part of our CHNJ community. Your support will mean so much and make a difference. We need you to sleep out and join us in state-wide solidarity for OUR kids.
Sleep Out: Covenant House New Jersey is a fundraiser that will support Covenant House New Jersey's programs and services. Register today! Participate in our virtual or in-person program
and then sleep out at a Covenant House New Jersey location or in your car, porch, backyard, couch, or floor. Each participant is required to fundraise. The suggested fundraising goal is $300 for ages 12-21 and $1,500 for adults. Corporate Sponsorship opportunities are available.
“While my journey from Venezuela to the New York Yankees had its challenges, I knew I could always count on my family to support my dream of playing Major League Baseball. During a visit with staff and residents at the Rights of Passage program in Asbury Park, I was so moved by the stories of the young people who do not have that same support and I want to do all I can to help young people. That is why I am so honored to be the Chairman for the Community Sleep Out on March 1. Please register to sleep out.
