Hey friend,
Have you heard of Covenant House's Stage & Screen Sleep Out? The short version is that you give up your bed for one night (Sunday, August 18) as a way to raise awareness and critical funds to shelter youth facing homelessness. I have decided to Sleep Out this year and I'm wondering if you'll join me.
Sleep Out is held at Covenant House's New York shelter on 41st Street, only blocks away from Broadway. That night, we'll get to know some of the young people who live there about their journeys to overcome homelessness. We'll also learn from Covenant House experts about why folks become homeless and how they work to care for them. And we do it all alongside our peers -- it's a pretty unique community-building experience (check out some testimonials from past Sleepers here) and the direct impact for young people in our community is incredible.
I included the details below -- what do you think? I would love to have you in the sleeping bag next to me! If you have any questions or hesitations, I'd love to hop on the phone or connect you with someone at Covenant House to try and sway you.
