Sleep Out: Boston

I am giving up my bed for one night.

My Sleep Out: Boston @ Gillette Stadium helps youth facing homelessness find safe shelter and loving care at Covenant House. That care includes essential services like education, job training, medical care, mental health and substance use counseling, and legal aid — everything they need to build independent, sustainable futures.

Ever experienced homelessness yourself?  I can only imagine.  I've slept outside on rainy nights, had no permanent home while looking for work (in an era before cellphones) after relocating (as we all know, no job = no lease), and been sick with only a tent for shelter.  In my case, what helped get me through is that I had keys to a car, money in my pocket, a home I could return to and people whom I could rely on.

No shelter, feeling unsafe, or worse, for 4.2 million young people.

When the sun is shining, when you are safe and dry, when you hear a kind word, participate in a positive conversation, feel the compassion of an outreach worker and receive support from a soup kitchen, food pantry or shelter, it's all a part of building your hope for a sustainable future.

By supporting my Sleep Out, you are supporting the dreams of young people overcoming homelessness.
