Why Santa Clara?

Did you know that Santa Clara has the second highest count of youth experiencing homelessness in the state of California?  This is the primary reason we are thrilled to have opened Santa Clara’s first youth shelter in May of 2021. Our doors are now open to 30 youth overcoming homelessness! Years in the making, this site is home to a state-of-the-art Career Center filled with the newest technology, a calming Meditation and Therapy Room, along with ample outdoor space for basketball and volleyball. We are also proud to announce, for the first time ever, Covenant House California will welcome young parents with their children.

100% of the money raised at Sleep Out will be directly allocated to our services and help Covenant House California continue to provide 24/7 care. And, the awareness you raise helps us provide a better future for youth overcoming homelessness, urging us closer to a world where everyone has a safe place to sleep. Together, we will end youth homelessness across California.

We are optimistic that our Sleep Out on November 18, 2021, will include opportunities for in-person participation in Santa Clara. Details will be shared as they become available.

If you prefer to participate from the safety of your home, you will be able to join the live, interactive online program with CHC alumni, front-line staff, and fellow Sleepers from across California. At night, these Sleepers will join us by giving up their beds and Sleeping Out in backyards, garages, porches, terraces, and floors across CA.

Companies are making a big difference in the youth homelessness crisis by becoming sponsors, making in-kind donations and matching gifts, and rallying teams of employees to Sleep Out. 100% of every dollar, including corporate donations, goes directly to our services.
