6,000 young people in Los Angeles are experiencing homelessness tonight.
Covenant House California (CHC) is a non-profit youth homeless shelter that provides sanctuary and support for homeless and trafficked youth, ages 18-24. We believe that no young person deserves to be homeless; that every young person in California deserves shelter, food, clothing, education … and most importantly, to be loved. Now serving over 4,700 youth a year, CHC provides a full continuum of services to meet the physical, emotional, educational, vocational, and spiritual well-being of young people, in order to provide them with the best chance for success in independence.
Fundraise for Covenant House to keep the lights on and the doors open for young people in need. Then, spend an evening getting to know some of the young people whose lives will be better because of your efforts on their behalf - and spend the rest of the night sleeping in a uncomfortable place in your home to be in solidarity with homeless youth. At this time, the event will be held either virtually or in-person given the current environment. As much as we want to have everyone back at the Cov, CHC will continue to evaluate our guidelines and visitation policy as it is deemed safe to do so.
Our Sleep Out is needed now more than ever. As this pandemic continues on, your support helps us continue providing our youth with more meals, more sanitation to keep our COVID rate low, more emergency medical services, more mental health services, and more outreach for trafficked youth. We ask that each participant makes a good faith effort in raising a minimum of $1,000 individually.
