4.2 million kids in America will face homelessness this year.
Covenant House provides these young people with safe shelter and wrap-around social services including education and job training so they can move towards an adulthood free of violence, poverty, and the threat of future homelessness.
Start a Sleep Out to immerse yourself and your peers in some of the problems that homeless teens face and be a part of the solution to these problems.
Sleep Out events can be held anywhere in the world. Covenant House doesn’t dictate dates or times, rather, we follow the lead of advocates across the country who take on the challenge of planning a Sleep Out with their classmates on their school grounds, with a civic club or faith group at a community center, as members of a sports team on a field, or with a group of like-minded friends in their own backyard.
Sleep Out participants fundraise for Covenant House to keep the lights on and the doors open for all of the kids who need help. Then, they spend one night sleeping outside in solidarity with young people overcoming homelessness.
We can't stay indoors while so many kids remain outside.
