4.2 million kids in America will face homelessness this year.
Covenant House provides these homeless young people with safe shelter and wrap-around services, including education and job training, so they can move forward to an adulthood free of poverty and the threat of homelessness.
Sign up to Sleep Out with us! Fundraise for Covenant House to keep the lights on and the doors open for kids in need. Then, spend an evening getting to know some of the young people whose lives will be better because of your efforts on their behalf - and spend the rest of the night sleeping outside in their place.
The Sleep Out Movement is made up of advocates throughout the United States and Canada who accept the challenge to sleep outside for one night so homeless kids don't have to.
Sleep Out is an experience.
On your own or together with others, you take a piece of cardboard and a sleeping bag and spend a night in a safe location outdoors. Sleep Out is not about pretending to be homeless or about facing the life-or-death dangers of youth who live every day on the streets. It’s an act of solidarity and simple kindness.
The Covenant House Pennsylvania Associate Board leads the Sleep Out in Philadelphia. For more information or questions about what it’s like to sleep out, please contact the Associate Board at [email protected] or visit our website.
Sleep Out: Young Professional Edition is going virtual! As we continue to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to merge the Sleep Out: Young Professional Edition with our other Spring Sleep Outs (Sleep Out: Women Unite and Sleep Out: Pride Edition) into one big Virtual Sleep Out on June 26th! So it’s not too late to sign up and join us and make a difference in the lives of our regions homeless youth during this time of crisis in our world.
Going virtual means that all sleepers will select a safe private place to sleep out that night (their yard, deck, balcony, or their floor). They will log into a video conference where you will hear updates from CHPA leadership, staff, and youth on how the global pandemic has changed their lives and how we serve our youth. It will also provide opportunities for all participants to engage more closely with each other and the CHPA team and give them perspective on why they are sleeping out. Please join us on June 26th and register today!
