Everyone Deserves a Safe Place to Sleep

4.2 million young people will face homelessness this year. You can help.

Give up your bed for one night to ensure that youth facing homelessness can sleep safely at Covenant House, where they are welcomed with love and respect. Young people can access safe shelter, nourishing food, clean clothing, and essential services like job training, education, healthcare, mental health counseling, and legal aid — all the tools they need to build futures free from homelessness.

Sleep Out is your chance to shine a light on the youth homelessness crisis and raise critical funds that help Covenant House provide young people with 24/7 support. The awareness and funds you raise translate to things like new sheets, computers, meals, and best-in-class care for youth overcoming homelessness.

How It Works

step 1: sign up to SLeep Out

You can Sleep Out anywhere at any time, on your own or with your friends, family, company, school, or community group. Sign up here to receive everything you need to create a meaningful experience.

Step 2: fundraise and spread awareness.

When you register, you create a personal fundraising page that you can customize with a photo, story, and fundraising goal. You can share your personal URL with your network so they can donate directly on this page.

Never fundraised before? Don't worry. Our fundraising tools include an easy guide to get started, sample messages, and shareable content. You'll also have access to a fundraising coach who can help you every step of the way. You'll kick off your fundraising with a self-donation, and we'll send you this limited edition Sleep Out sticker pack!

Step 3: Sleep Out.

Find a place to Sleep Out that is safe and legal. It can be anywhere: a yard, garage, porch, terrace, or floor are all great options.

Remember, Sleep Out is about more than just one uncomfortable night's sleep. Your planning toolkit will include activity ideas, videos, and stories to incorporate into your night to give it added meaning and make you a better advocate for youth overcoming homelessness.
