COVID-19 Safety Measures

Sleep Out Health and Safety Policies

After careful consideration, we have implemented the following measures to promote the health and well-being of attendees and staff who choose to Sleep Out in person:

1. Participants and staff must receive a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of the event (between November 10-13) and log it using this form

2. Participants and staff must have a negative rapid test result the day of the event (November 13th). Participants are asked to test before arriving at Covenant House New York.

3. Participants must have proof of vaccination (2-3 shots including a booster, depending on the brand).

4. While indoors, participants and staff are required to wear a mask. This is in keeping with NYC guidelines for shelters.

5. While outdoors, participants will be asked to respect social distancing guidelines and/or wear a mask when interacting with other Sleepers or staff.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, we will respectfully ask that you participate virtually.

Your Health & Safety is Our Top Priority

Sleep Out: Stage & Screen will be held onsite at Covenant House New York, where we follow strict city, state, and federal guidelines to keep our youth and staff safe. We are also working closely with our event committee to adhere to industry best practices imposed on sets and productions.

As the situation evolves, so will our approach to keeping our community safe. We thank you for your patience and flexibility as we manage this, and your commitment to the fundamental purpose of Sleep Out: to provide every young person with a safe place to sleep.

If you are not able or willing to adhere to the policies outlined above for in-person participation, we invite you to register as a virtual participant and Sleep Out from home.
