Sleep Out: Executive Edition in Georgia Schedule

Safety is our highest priority, both for the young people we serve and supporters at our events, and we take every necessary precaution to keep you safe. In 11 years of Sleep Out, we have never had an incident with safety. 

Our outdoor space is guarded by security and Covenant House staff will be present at all times. Sleep Out is a rain or shine event, but there will be options for protection in the event of rain or snow. 

Only registered Sleepers will be permitted to attend the Sleep Out, and all participants must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Sleepers may be asked to wear a mask when indoors or when conversing with others. 

We follow city, state, and national guidelines with regard to COVID-19 and will update policies as needed.

Please check your email the week before Sleep Out for an updated packing list as well as arrival instructions. Most often, your packing list will include: 

• A sleeping bag
• Your overnight travel bag (limit one per person) 
• Layers of clothing
• Proof of vaccination and a photo I.D. 
• A mask for when you're indoors 
• Personal medications (as needed) 
• Basic toiletries (optional) 
• A water bottle (optional) 

 

You should not bring: 

• Alcohol. Sleep Out is always a dry event and alcohol is strictly prohibited. Also, we must insist that you refrain from having alcoholic beverages before arriving at the Sleep Out. Many of our residents and alumni have struggled with substance use and are hyper-aware of the odors of alcohol; for their safety and security, please take great care. 
• Food and drink (other than water), unless required for medical purposes. Please plan to eat before you arrive. 
• Pillows, airbeds, or other luxury bedding items.
• Unnecessary valuables. While we do provide staffed storage areas, we recommend you limit the number of valuables (electronics, jewelry, money, etc.) for your peace of mind...and ours. 

 

We will provide for you: 

• Light snacks and breakfast 
• Bottled water and/or a water bottle filling station
• Secure storage for your belongings, available to you at all times 
• Restroom facilities (indoors)
